The Closet Master

 Hello Again!

I know that "well-being" is what this blog is about for us.  We all had a lot to battle in the last few years.  The pandemic has set many of us to contemplate our currant situations.  That is exactly what happened with us.  We had to ask the difficult questions of where are we headed? Why are we fighting so hard to live a simple life?  We had to look into ourselves. In doing that we started realizing we have the power to change.  A simple grateful heart was the answer.  We had to put ourselves in a position to recognize the good all around us and begin to focus on that.  For us that meant changing our way of life.  I miss some things, of course, about our life we left behind, but I'm so grateful that we took this leap.  I'm able to take the time to look around and really see the beauty that surrounds us.

This picture was taken out of our car window while driving home one evening.  I am realizing I have a "grateful heart".

As far as the house goes, we are going to talk closets.  Most of you know old houses don't have good closets.  Well this house is no exception.  Not only are the closets small they had been neglected and were in need of repair.  I would say they were "scary".  There was old plaster crumbling and water damage stains and old wood shelves that appeared to be taken out of a barn somewhere and they smelled musty.  Yikes! we needed help.  Well we are "grateful" and lucky to have Brett, our son-in-law, who we can now call the "closet master"!  He suggested we demolish what was existing and install new drywall, and he basically did all of that work himself.  I have a few pictures but they don't convey the total grossness that existed before:

These photos are from before we bought the house.  The space was not being used to the full potential to say the least.

This is the process...

I kept telling Brett that I could have never lived with the existing closets.  He made them so comfortable and usable that is definitely made a big difference in my "well-being"

I promise you these closets not only look way better they also are pretty good size.  We were able to fit all of our clothing and even had a bit of room to spare.  There were three closets total, one in each bedroom.  We have one more closet downstairs in the main bathroom and it was in much better shape so no work needed on that one (yet).

A BIG thank you to Brett for all of his hard work!
