Sunny nook

 Welcome back,

So the day finally arrived, the moving truck was arriving!  Looking back it's funny how you're so excited about getting your stuff and as the day progresses and things fill up it's not so exciting anymore.

The movers worked hard all day long distributing our belongings into the proper spaces.  It was overwhelming.  So much work ahead and just after we had been working for days to prepare the house.  We were running on adrenalin at this point.

While preparing for the truck we had tackled one other small space in the house.  It is the little nook in the kitchen where the previous owners had a little table with benches.  We knew we would not use that table but wanted a nook for coffee drinking in the morning.  Our daughter Chelsea took the lead on this room.  It of course, had wall paper.  She removed that on her own and we picked a sunny yellow paint color and she painted the whole space herself.

Primed and ready to paint

The yellow paint makes the space a cheerful morning spot.
Notice the light fixture, original to the house, super cute!

This is my first morning enjoying a cup of coffee and as you can see with our stuff delivered this is how we lived for a few days.

We choose these small scale chairs to fit in the tight space.  The one on the left, we refinished several years ago and the one on the right I recently found at a thrift shop for $6.99.

I decided we would make them match.  I had to remove the fabric/cushions and primed and painted the wood.
I also included this small antique foot stool that I already had.

It's now a sweet little spot to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning!
